Reverend Jerry Newman accepted Christ as his Savior when he was eleven years old and was called to preach six months later.  He married Darlyn Campbell in 1965 and moved to Nashville to attend Free Will Baptist Bible College.  Jerry graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible and Theology.  Pastor Jerry and Darlyn have four children- Zachary, Jason, Rachel, and Addie.  They also have nine grandchildren- Savannah, Isaac, Jedidiah, Faith, Abigail, Chloe, Ian, Addlyn, Gabriella and Campbell.

He has been Pastor of Community Free Will Baptist Church in West Jefferson since 1984.  Prior to that time he served as Pastor of Beatty FWB Church in Springfield, Ohio; Mansfield FWB Church in Mansfield, Ohio; Northridge Mission Church in Springfield, Ohio; Gorman FWB Church in Gorman, Tennessee.  Pastor Jerry has served on the Ohio State Association of FWB Home Mission Board and the Executive Boards of both the Central Ohio Conference and the Cuyahoga-Lorain Conference.  Jerry has also lead singing, services, Sunday School, and Bible Study in these churches.
